Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team at the City of Saratoga Springs. As a key member of the City Attorney's office, you will provide critical support to the City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney in preparing and processing legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process legal documents, including information, motions, responses, summonses, subpoenas, warrants, and other court-related documents
  • Conduct research and gather information to support legal cases
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including court files and indexes
  • Provide administrative support to the City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, including scheduling appointments and preparing correspondence
  • Assist with the preparation of cases for filing and prosecution in court
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university, or two years of post-high school academic study in paralegal studies, pre-law, English, writing, office administration, criminal justice, or a related field
  • Three years of experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal, or closely related experience
  • Valid Utah driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of prosecution and court procedures
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
