Position Overview

As the Culinary Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen management, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for staff and patrons alike. You will lead the preparation of meals in alignment with corporate standards and guidelines. This role is ideal for a dynamic and innovative culinary expert.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designs and implements regular and customized menus following established protocols.
  • Adheres to standardized recipes and presentation standards, utilizing daily production logs and waste tracking.
  • Educates kitchen personnel on food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and sanitation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Establishes and upholds cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment and workspaces, ensuring compliance among staff.
  • Manages inventory of food and non-food items, adhering to budgetary guidelines while ensuring availability of necessary products.
  • Makes informed decisions regarding the use of leftover food products in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations at all levels, as demonstrated through audits.
  • Follows safety protocols and procedures, including incident reporting.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and professional development programs as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in culinary or kitchen management, contingent upon formal education or training.
  • Extensive experience in catering is advantageous.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex food service operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in institutional and batch cooking.
  • Hands-on culinary experience is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of food and catering trends, with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, and cost control.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and email.
  • Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
