Job Title: Technical Writer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation to support our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and how-to materials to assist users across the CITS Enterprise
  • Create staff packages and provide documentation, including white papers, information papers, decision papers, point papers, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, databases, SharePoint, training packages, policy, and guidance within DoD policy
  • Document the results of cyber and hardware testing and other technical reports
  • Organize and present technical information in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the intended audience
  • Ensure documentation adheres to established style guides, standards, and templates
  • Collaborate with the training team to develop and update training materials, tutorials, and other knowledge resources
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a document repository and knowledge management system
  • Support project managers in tracking documentation deliverables, milestones, and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in technical documentation, quality assurance, control, management, or IT service management
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a DevSecOps or similar technology-focused environment
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality documentation on time
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to quickly grasp and explain complex technical concepts
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, customer-focused environment

Clearance and Travel Requirements:

Active Secret Clearance required. 10% or less travel.
