Key Responsibilities:
The role encompasses the design and development of mechanical systems applicable across various sectors.
Engage in research, design, development, testing, or oversight of the manufacturing and installation of mechanical equipment, components, or systems tailored for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific applications.
You will be expected to generate solid models and comprehensive documentation of designs, guiding them through to prototype production.
Collaboration with project teams, including CAD and shop technicians, is essential, as you will lead teams of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers.
Leadership in scheduling tasks and estimating labor hours and material costs for design development and prototyping will be part of your responsibilities.
Additionally, you will perform business management tasks such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, along with 10+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience is required.
Expertise in designing and creating complex parametric 3-D models and assemblies using Pro/Engineer, Solid Edge, Solid Works, and/or AutoCAD is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of standard fabrication processes, including machining, welding, and assembly, is preferred.
