Job Overview

Compensation: $15.00 per hour


I. Position Overview

  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area and all kitchen equipment, acting as the safety and sanitation representative for the back of house.

II. Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the dishwashing area
  • Monitoring and managing waste disposal, including emptying and relining trash receptacles
  • Restocking essential supplies such as paper towels and soap
  • Maintaining inventory levels of dishwashing detergents and cleaning agents
  • Ensuring sanitizer buckets are correctly placed and changed regularly, adhering to health regulations
  • Stocking the cooking stations with clean dishes throughout service
  • Properly storing clean dishes in designated areas
  • Handling dishware with care to minimize breakage
  • Pre-cleaning dishes before washing
  • Operating and maintaining the dishwashing machine
  • Disassembling and cleaning the dish machine, ensuring adequate soap and solutions
  • Regularly checking and draining the dish machine
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the dish area
  • Assisting with the unloading and storage of delivery items
  • Helping with food prep as needed
  • Understanding labeling and freshness standards
  • Filling in as necessary to support the kitchen team
  • Adhering to safety and sanitation protocols
  • Keeping the exterior areas clean

III. Qualifications:

  • Required certification as mandated by the company
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred experience of 6 months in the hospitality sector
  • Physical capability to lift, reach, bend, climb, and stoop
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a hot, humid, and noisy environment
  • Capacity to lift heavy items safely
  • Clear communication skills with management and kitchen staff
  • Willingness to comply with management requests
