We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Pediatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to children and families in our Pediatric department.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine patient care, including vital signs, wound care, and medication administration, under the supervision of a licensed provider.
- Assist licensed providers with patient examinations and treatments, including positioning, restraining patients, and assisting as directed.
- Prepare and transport medical equipment and laboratory specimens as needed.
- Maintain departmental files, including pulling files and assembling forms prior to appointments, and filing returned diagnostic reports.
- Initiate and complete diagnostic test forms per provider order, telephone prescriptions to pharmacies, and relay medical information from physician to patient.
- Chart in patients' medical records as indicated.
- Perform lab tests, including urine dip-tests, acetone tests, hemoccult tests, and other tests as needed.
- Collect and preserve specimens for testing, including urine, sputum, and stool.
- Participate in Department Quality Assurance activities.
- Vocational Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support
- Ability to work effectively with the public
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique
- Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to customers, contracted providers, and vendors.
This is a hybrid position that will support all current and future Pediatric subspecialty and general Pediatric departments in North County. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent patient care.
