Position Overview

This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive psychological support within an educational setting. The position is characterized by significant managerial responsibilities, particularly in finance, human resources, and various support functions. The individual will oversee a range of operations, adapting to the diverse needs of the school environment.

Key Objectives

The objectives for this role are generally well-defined, with broad guidelines and minimal daily oversight. The individual will ensure that adequate support is maintained throughout the school, offering crucial assistance and timely advice to the leadership team and school council while engaging with the wider school community and relevant external agencies.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Delivering professional psychological services, including therapy and counseling.
  • Collaborating with families and external providers to facilitate student referrals.
  • Ensuring that all external service providers meet the necessary service delivery standards.
  • Coordinating with other departmental areas and external service providers to support student needs.
  • Committing to ongoing professional development and maintaining professional competence.
  • Adhering to relevant policies and legislative requirements regarding student health information privacy.

Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualifications

  • Full registration as a psychologist with the relevant regulatory body.
  • A current Working With Children Check.
  • Demonstrated aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications relevant to the specific requirements of the role.
