Transplant Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Transplant Team at Emory University Hospital. As an integral part of our integrated academic healthcare system, you will play a vital role in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities- Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients, including conducting patient interviews and documenting patient histories.
- Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician.
- Assist physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
- Order, schedule, and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- At least one year of direct experience in a high acuity clinical specialty.
- BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required; ACLS may be required in some areas.

Physical and Environmental DemandsThe physical demands of this role include occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work. Environmental exposures include blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel, and use of personal protective equipment.
