About the Role

The Principal Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading local business development efforts, marketing initiatives, project design, and project management. This role will work under the direction of the Florida Regional office and will be responsible for monitoring office performance, evaluating staff regularly, and providing advice and expertise to staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor office performance and evaluate staff regularly
  • Lead staff, provide advice and expertise
  • Work with Department Managers to manage workloads and develop annual budgets
  • Direct staff efforts and development according to plans and personal skills
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training opportunities for staff
  • Manage large complex projects, as needed
  • Work with Orlando office manager and Human Resources on staffing needs, utilization, hiring, and training needs
  • Be responsible to client managers/technical staff regarding pursuit of business development and marketing opportunities in the Orlando office region
  • Make frequent client contact to the clients within Orange County and surrounding areas
  • Monitor client satisfaction and ensure that their requests are responded to
  • Help prepare project-specific proposals and participate in project interviews
  • Lead formal pursuit process for the region
  • Engage prospective clients, understand their issues, identify opportunities to support these clients
  • Provide QA/QC of engineering projects, when necessary
  • Provide training and mentoring of engineering design staff
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in State of Florida or ability to obtain by reciprocity
  • 12 or more years of experience in the design and project management of stormwater, transportation, utility, and/or general civil projects
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and proposals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Strong verbal, computer, organizational, and writing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of projects
Compensation

The pay range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
