We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Regulatory Advisor to join our team at BWX Technologies in Erwin, TN. As a key member of our Nuclear Fuel Services division, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing effective safety measures.

About the Role:

  • You will serve as the Chairman of the Safety and Safeguards Review Council (SSRC) and oversee the review and approval of proposed license changes affecting safety, physical security, and material control and accountability.
  • As a technical reviewer, you will ensure that all work requests, procedures, and drawings meet applicable program documents and procedures.
  • You will administer the Internally Authorized Change (IAC) Program, including submitting annual lists to the NRC, and coordinate reviews with safety department personnel.
  • Additionally, you will prepare licensing submittals to regulatory agencies, consolidate licensing input from Engineering, Operations, and Safety, and establish liaison with other departments on matters related to license and regulatory compliance.
  • You will also support review of the NFS-Erwin Licensing Program for compliance with governmental regulations, interface with NRC and other regulatory inspectors and licensing personnel, and develop implementing procedures for the Licensing Program.

Requirements:

  • A B.S. degree in an engineering, safety, or technical discipline or 8 years of safety/regulatory management experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Over ten (10) years' experience in licensing, regulatory compliance, safety, safety analysis, or other directly related experience in a nuclear or similar highly regulated position is required.

Salary and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $92,000 - $142,000 per year. The total compensation package includes medical, retirement, and other benefits. Details will be provided upon employment offer. If hired, the selected candidate will be employed 'at-will.'
