Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager in Training to join our team at Academy Sports + Outdoors. As a Manager in Training, you will be responsible for learning and developing the skills necessary to become a successful store manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of store operations, including staffing, customer service, and sales.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve weekly and monthly operational goals.
  • Supervise and train sales team members to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Learn and understand company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Participate in floor walks with Regional Vice President, District Manager, and Store Director to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience required.
  • Exceptional supervisory and management skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of business implications of decisions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, customers, and business partners.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally climb or balance, or stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
