Heavy Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Heavy Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heavy industrial machinery and equipment. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and repairing or replacing defective parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy industrial equipment, including hydraulic systems, conveyors, and large-scale machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and prevent accidents.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnoses and repairs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure effective communication with team members and management.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for extended periods, with a focus on safety and ergonomics.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, with a focus on safety and risk management.
- Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity, with a focus on precision and accuracy.
