Job Title: L2 Cisco Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced L2 Cisco Network Engineer to join our team in East Providence, Rhode Island. This role will involve hands-on work with Cisco Meraki solutions, Dell Servers, and providing helpdesk support to PC end users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Cisco Meraki solutions and network devices.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Dell Servers and associated hardware.
  • Provide technical support and helpdesk assistance to PC end users, resolving issues related to connectivity, hardware, and software.
  • Perform network routing and switching tasks, including configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers and switches.
  • Conduct routine network performance assessments and optimizations.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals and Vendors to ensure network stability and performance.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and updates.
  • Assist with network upgrades and migrations as needed.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation if required.
  • Experience working in Virtual Environments - Managing VMs, Setting up new VMs.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working in a CISCO Network environment.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a strong focus on Cisco Meraki and Dell Servers.
  • Solid understanding of network routing, switching, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in providing helpdesk support to end users, including PC hardware and software issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco network devices and configurations.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Cisco certification like CCNP preferred.
  • Other Vendor Certifications a plus but not required.
  • Experience with network security practices and solutions.
  • Familiarity with additional network management tools and platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

This position requires on-site presence in East Providence, Rhode Island, Monday through Friday. The initial contract duration is 6 months, with the potential for extension and conversion to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

For this opportunity, you will also be eligible for benefits through Apex for the contract period, 401K, medical/health benefits options, a W2 hourly rate, weekly pay, and direct deposit.
