Position Summary:

The primary function of the Lumber Yard Operations Associate is to manage the receipt of building materials from suppliers, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and tracking of special orders. This role involves maintaining an organized yard, stocking products, and assisting customers efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire knowledge of company products, operational procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all patrons.
  • Accurately unload and load materials for trucks and customers in line with accompanying documentation.
  • Systematically organize, label, and store materials following established protocols.
  • Safely operate yard equipment, adhering to safety policies.
  • Implement yard loading and delivery protocols effectively.
  • Document all merchandise returns accurately and manage the return process to vendors.
  • Engage with customers to address and resolve any complaints.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • A strong desire for professional development and learning.
  • Ability to respond swiftly and effectively to challenges.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods, ranging from 4 to 10 hours daily.
  • Proficiency in using computers and calculators.
  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry weights exceeding 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch as necessary.
