Position SummaryOur client is in search of a dedicated professional to serve as a Residential Support Specialist in the New Market area.
Key Responsibilities- Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving personal growth and fostering relationships.
- Ensure a positive experience for individuals within a quality support program.
- Promote skill development through teaching, coaching, and engagement.
- Facilitate new experiences, including outings and in-home activities.
- Encourage individuals to build and maintain relationships with peers, family, and significant others.
- Support individuals in developing decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Understand and implement individual service plans (ISPs) effectively.
- Maintain daily logs and provide feedback to the Program Coordinator.
- Participate in annual and quarterly ISP meetings as required.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and documentation requirements.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Current TB test results.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Build a relationship with one of the largest referral agencies in behavioral health.
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate personal preferences.
