Job Description:
AEG seeks an experienced Agronomy Intern to join its team in a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in golf course operations and maintenance.

In this role, you will support the Golf Course maintenance staff in their mission to provide exceptional golfing experiences for our members and guests. Your knowledge of agronomics and equipment operation will be invaluable in assisting with pesticide and fertilizer applications, performing calibrations of spreader and sprayer units, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

You will also have the opportunity to propose improvement ideas to the Golf Course Management team, properly utilize safety equipment provided by AEG, and work in a manner that does not disrupt the members and their guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in pesticide and fertilizer applications.
  • Perform calibrations of spreader and sprayer units.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment at all times.
  • Propose improvement ideas to the Golf Course Management team.
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:
  • Basic knowledge and operational experience of turf equipment.
  • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of golf course etiquette in a private atmosphere.
Estimated Salary:$45,000 - $55,000 per annum.

This position will expose employees to the following, but not limited to; carbon monoxide fumes from equipment, various insects and animals, electrical outlets and wiring, grease and hot oils from equipment, high noise levels, flying golf balls, welding devices with open flame, a variety of grinders, saws, fans, etc., along with dirt, mud, pollen, and approved pesticides.
