We are seeking dedicated and diverse school leaders and teachers to partner with our Superintendent in moving the district towards its goals.
Our VisionWe represent 34 schools and 4 alternative education programs, serving over 19,000 students Pre-K-12, with 77% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, 18% served by the Office of Special Education, and 78% students of color. Our staff are passionate about urban education and committed to closing the achievement gap.
Key Responsibilities- Set the standard for excellence by embodying the characteristics and values of SCSD teaching excellence.
- Exhibit a growth mindset by participating in coaching cycles with district coaches.
- Integrate Accountable Talk, SEL, Personalizing Learning strategies, CRE, and school-specific models into instruction.
- Record best practices to share with others.
- Host teacher and admin Learning Walks to classrooms.
- Share lesson plans and resources with Learning Walk visitors.
- Be an active member of the school's Guiding Coalition.
- Participate in approximately 5 hours of work outside of the school day for coaching, planning, and professional development.
- NYS Teacher Certification or certification from another state.
- Preferably tenured teacher.
- 3-5 years teaching experience.
$3,500 stipend and up to 100 hours of Paid PD of your choice.
