Position Overview:

The Accounting Analyst I/II/III plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial transactions within the organization. This position is vital for maintaining accurate account codes for all expenditures across Boardwalk entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate account codes assigned to payables, ensuring they accurately reflect the nature of expenditures.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to discuss planned purchases and invoice adjustments.
  • Oversee the validation of invoices and payment requests within Oracle EBS, ensuring all details align with company policies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies that may hinder timely payments.
  • Assist in monitoring unpaid invoices and provide support to Accounting Assistants in managing overdue accounts.
  • Conduct daily requisition reviews and facilitate monthly reconciliations between accounts payable and purchase orders.
  • Prepare necessary journal entries and perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
  • Generate reports for management as needed and contribute to process enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Business Suite.
  • Entry-level to five years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Progress towards CPA or CMA certification.
  • Background in regulated utilities or financial auditing.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
  • An MBA is preferred.
