About the Role

iMedX, a RapidCare Group company, is seeking a highly skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our coding team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our clients' medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Abstract relevant clinical information from health records and assign accurate and complete codes in accordance with Official Coding Guidelines and iMedX standards.
  2. Identify first-listed and secondary diagnoses based on Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting (OGCR) and assign ICD-10-CM codes appropriately.
  3. Assign CPT codes to procedures and meet or exceed iMedX coding quality standards.
  4. Understand and adhere to all requirements related to coding compliance and maintain confidentiality and safeguard the privacy of protected health information (PHI).
  5. Continually enhance coding skills and participate in team meetings and educational conferences to ensure coding practice remains current.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent and completion of a formal coding program. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or other AHIMA or AAPC approved coding credential preferred. Minimum of three years' coding work experience encompassing a working knowledge of the ICD and CPT coding systems, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and health record content.
