Overview

As a Seasonal Aquatic Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of patrons at our aquatic facilities. Your responsibilities will include monitoring activities, responding to emergencies, and leading aquatic programs and swim instruction in both indoor and outdoor pool settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold all aquatic facility regulations, policies, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and execution of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue methods.
  • Conduct swim lessons and manage pool programming effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness by vacuuming, skimming, and sweeping pool and deck areas.
  • Perform back-washing of the pool, clean filters and chlorination systems, assess water quality, and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Exhibit professionalism in appearance, conduct, and demeanor at all times.
  • Keep all required certifications current and engage in regular training sessions.
  • Maintain personal fitness levels, including swimming skills, strength, and endurance.
  • Strive to provide a positive experience for every patron and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Ensure confidentiality in all matters, collaborate effectively with team members, and treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
  • Arrive at work punctually and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Utilize equipment and resources responsibly for optimal performance.
  • This description encompasses the primary duties; additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications

Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years

Education and Experience:
  1. Completion of high school education or currently pursuing a high school diploma.
  2. Certification as a lifeguard through Jeff Ellis and Associates is required (training available for those not yet certified).
