- Support the head cook with meal preparation as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in food preparation areas and equipment, particularly when contamination occurs.
- Assist with the preparation of special orders as required.
- Aid in receiving and organizing groceries and produce deliveries on scheduled days.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of kitchen equipment and areas weekly, including ovens and floors.
- Ensure the walk-in cooler and freezer are kept clean and organized, with no debris present.
- Regularly check and label items in coolers, ensuring proper dating at least twice a week.
- Dispose of outdated food items from storage areas.
- Prepare main entrees for service as deliveries arrive, ensuring timely defrosting.
- Plan and bake menu items according to established recipes.
- Collaborate with wait staff to prepare appetizers and desserts as needed.
- Assist the Dietary Director with inventory management and catering tasks.
- Practice safe food handling and sanitation techniques consistently.

Qualifications:

- Capable of interacting courteously with residents, families, and visitors.
- Well-groomed and compliant with dress code requirements, including non-slip footwear.
- Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
