Paving Operations Director

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Inspector to join our team at Gannett Fleming. As a key member of our construction management team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating paving projects in the Cheshire, Farmington, and Southington areas.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight: Lead and manage paving work, ensuring contractors adhere to project plans and specifications.
- Payment and Change Order Management: Process and track contractor payments and change orders for advanced utility work, coordinating with contractors and clients.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Schedule and conduct meetings with project stakeholders, utility companies, and other relevant parties.
- Project Communication: Communicate updates, challenges, and project progress to clients.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee day-to-day advanced utility work operations, monitor progress, identify and coordinate issue resolutions.
- Shift Supervision: Supervise night and weekend shifts based on project needs.
- Field Reporting: Individually complete and review field staff's Daily Inspection Reports.
- Schedule Management: Monitor contractor schedules.
- Project Filing: Maintain an organized project filing system.
- Technical Issue Resolution: Review and coordinate resolution of field technical issues.
- Education: Minimum BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or NICET certification in Transportation Construction Inspection (TCI) Level 3 or higher.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with experience working with ConnDOT on utility, roadway, and bridge projects.
- Certifications: ACI Level 1, NETTCP, ASSTA certifications highly desired.
- Skills: Proficient knowledge of ConnDOT regulations, procedures, and requirements, and familiarity with documentation and reporting processes and programs.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical Demands: Must be physically capable and willing to work outdoors.
- Travel: Must have the ability to travel and work varied hours.
