We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a State Supported Living Center setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Provide routine nursing tasks and procedures, such as tracheostomy care, gastrostomy/jejunostomy care, wound care, and breathing treatments.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments, and monitor patients for unusual symptoms and reactions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care and make recommendations for improvements.
- Document and report pertinent treatments and observations in the individual's medical record.
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).
- At least six (6) months of experience as a practicing registered nurse in a health agency, hospital, or healthcare facility.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
