Job Overview

Village Management Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Laguna Woods Village, the largest Southern California independent-living community for people 55 and older.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining annual and long-range organization budgets for the Golden Rain Foundation and all housing mutual corporations. They will also prepare and submit budget instructions to all divisions, analyze and compile requests, and participate in staff reviews and budget presentations to committees and boards.

Additionally, the Financial Analyst will monitor and report monthly on financial statements and ad hoc cost management reports, assist with investigating transactions and reconciling accounts, and initiate and recommend appropriate action as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain annual and long-range organization budgets
  • Prepare and submit budget instructions to all divisions
  • Participate in staff reviews and budget presentations
  • Monitor and report on financial statements and ad hoc cost management reports
  • Assist with investigating transactions and reconciling accounts

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in finance or accounting
  • Considerable experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, and general ledger record keeping
  • Knowledge of principles, procedures, and techniques of accounting and of financial records and transactions
  • Ability to compile and analyze financial reports, research problems, and prepare written recommendations

Working Environment:

The Financial Analyst will work in a climate-controlled indoor office, using PC, laptop, audio-visual controls, calculator, copier, fax, and telephone. Regular attendance is required, and the position involves working effectively with co-workers, customers, and others.
