About the Role

SC Johnson & Son, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of household cleaning, air care, and professional products. We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Paralegal Specialist to join our Patent Practice Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain a large portfolio of patents and intellectual property assets for the company.
  • Support patent attorneys in all aspects of patent portfolio management, including patent filings, docket management, clearance searches, and counseling.
  • Prepare and review patent documents, including assignments, power of attorney, and declarations.
  • Work closely with inventors to gather information and support patent applications.
  • Collaborate with business units to gather evidence and collect patent-use information.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to patent portfolio management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience as a patent or intellectual property paralegal.
  • Strong working knowledge of domestic and international patent laws and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a complex workload.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with online searching and docketing tools, such as Acclaim IP and Anaqua.
  • Successful completion of an A.B.A.-approved Paralegal program.
