CEI Inspector Job Description

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting firm, is seeking a skilled CEI Inspector to join their team in the South Florida area. As a CEI Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contract documents and conducting inspections to verify accuracy and quality of construction work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to discuss plans, specifications, materials, and methods of construction.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules in accordance with CDR Maguire's and Owner's requirements.
  • Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations.
  • Verify quantities and cost of materials and ensure they conform to contract documents.
  • Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payment.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents and health and safety plans.
  • Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy.
  • Perform manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations.
  • Two years of experience in construction inspection, including one year in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
  • 1+ years of experience with FDOT.
  • Civil Engineering degree can substitute for required experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level

  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification
