Overview

Concentra is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our patient care team. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician.
  • Support registration and referral management as needed.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing.
  • Perform rapid screening tests, assist providers during examination and treatment, and prepare and assist clinicians with procedure setup and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician, dispense medications and DME as ordered, and complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Notify supervisors immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or the facility is not operating as expected.
  • Participate in patient flow and volume management, keep patients informed of expected wait times, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Perform front office duties, including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, checking in/out, communicating wait times, answering multi-line telephone systems, and distributing employer results/paperwork as needed.
Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical/Business School degree.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school or Military Medical Specialist with current Medical Assistant credentials.
  • At least six months or more of medical assistant experience, knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology, and working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements.
  • Concentra Core Competencies of Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative, and Flexibility.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic, communicate clearly and professionally, and maintain working relationships with colleagues.
