Job Overview:

The School Support Coordinator will oversee the delivery of social services within an educational environment. The primary focus will be on assisting students and their families who encounter barriers to academic achievement and personal development. This role involves direct engagement on the school campus, providing professional and accessible support to at-risk students and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Campus Coordination
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of campus needs to identify available services and gaps in support.
  • Develop a tailored Campus Service Delivery Plan (CSDP) addressing specific needs and targeting students facing challenges affecting their academic performance, behavior, attendance, and social service requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant school personnel focused on student support services.
  • Provide orientation and training for school staff regarding CIS-SA initiatives.
  • Work alongside the principal and designated student support staff to identify at-risk students for case management and gather necessary recommendation forms.
  • Maintain regular communication with the school principal or their representative to gather input and report on program developments.
  • Monitor and document student progress towards established goals.
  • Collect feedback from administrators, parents, and students regarding program implementation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of campus programming.
File and Data Management
  • Gather CIS-SA documentation, demographic, and academic data for each identified case-managed student and input this information into the approved data entry system.
  • Establish and maintain accurate and comprehensive participant files in accordance with program procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper documentation of services provided through sign-in sheets, adhering to program protocols.
  • Regularly monitor the accuracy and quality of data in both paper and electronic formats.
Program Service Delivery
  • Design, implement, and coordinate a variety of programs and services that support at-risk students, incorporating the CIS Five Basics and Six Components for effective service delivery.
  • Assess and create individualized service plans for case-managed students using the CIS Model.
  • Coordinate and deliver school-wide services that align with program requirements and address identified school needs.
  • Implement individual and group services tailored to the assessed needs of students.
  • Manage and report on grants and projects assigned to the campus.
Integrative Services
  • Collaborate with external agencies, businesses, volunteers, and interns to provide direct services or referrals that meet student needs.
  • Coordinate in-kind donations to support student requirements and program activities.
  • Oversee volunteers and work with community partners to ensure the success of programs.
  • Manage interns assigned to the campus in accordance with university guidelines.
  • Provide orientation for volunteers, interns, and community partners regarding CIS program policies and service delivery.
Administrative Duties
  • Manage timekeeping and attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure the completion of necessary programmatic reports.
  • Plan and monitor budget expenditures effectively.

Position Type: This is a full-time role with standard working hours typically from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Compensation: Salary will be based on relevant work experience and educational qualifications.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or sociology with relevant experience.
  • Experience with at-risk populations and in diverse environments.

  • A commitment to the philosophy of CIS and a collaborative team approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Two years of relevant work or internship experience in social services.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
