Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in projects concerning air quality and waste management, ensuring adherence to environmental laws and standards.
- Perform air quality evaluations, emissions inventories, and waste storage/handling assessments.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate the environmental implications of projects and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Keep updated on environmental regulations, policies, and guidelines related to air quality and waste management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental requirements for all projects.
- Plan and manage air emission testing initiatives.
- Draft air and waste permit applications and engage with permitting authorities.
- Calculate air emissions and waste generation estimates for chemical production and other operations.
- Engage closely with clients to comprehend their air quality and waste reduction goals and provide expert recommendations.
- Stay informed about new technologies in air quality monitoring and pollution control systems.
- Propose and implement creative solutions to improve environmental performance.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers in their professional growth.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental engineering with a focus on air quality and waste.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant air quality and waste regulations and environmental impact assessment procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Exhibit a commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible engineering practices.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Maintain ethical standards in environmental engineering practices.
