About the Job

As a Grants Manager at The Legal Aid Society, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of assigned grants portfolios and finance billing activities. This includes entering budgets into funders' systems, preparing and submitting bills, tracking receivables and balances, managing contracts, performing closeouts, and conducting spending checks.

This position requires a strong analytical mind and excellent organizational skills to plan, organize, and prepare for timely processing of contract vouchers, billing packages, and reports to government/private funding sources.

You will work closely with the team to ensure department project completion deadlines are met, create and prepare Excel schedules and control reports, and assist with individual program audits and year-end audits as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned contract portfolios from registration to closeout
  • Analyze, review, and reconcile General Ledger accounts by program
  • Verify that reimbursements do not exceed contract amounts
  • Ensure contract revenues and expenditures are recorded in the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Initiate timely follow-ups on outstanding accounts receivable balances and respond to grantor requests as necessary
  • Work collaboratively with FP&A to provide budget narratives for assigned programs and new budget preparations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • At least one year of experience analyzing complex financial data
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze large volumes of data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Salary Range: $71,657.00 - $99,480.00 per annum
