Job Summary:

We are seeking a Cloud Operations Specialist with a keen interest in Big Data Infrastructure. This role involves taking full ownership of our Big Data infrastructure, ensuring the continuous enhancement of platform services to facilitate a seamless data pipeline and deliver outstanding results. As a Cloud Operations Specialist, you will grasp the intricacies of Big Data architecture, manage our data pipeline, and collaborate with engineering teams and job owners to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational challenges, ensuring the highest quality data outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend Big Data architecture and establish a large-scale data processing environment.
  • Design and implement effective monitoring systems to minimize data ingestion and processing delays.
  • Oversee and manage the Big Data application system stack on a daily basis.
  • Define operational metrics to evaluate service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Set objectives to enhance service quality in alignment with business and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Big Data engineers to ensure smooth data ingestion, transformation, and data at rest.
  • Proactively drive issue resolution and conduct root cause analysis as part of on-call duties.
  • Monitor data performance and adjust infrastructure as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in data operations engineering.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in HDFS, Kafka, and Yarn operations and management is essential.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Services, such as EC2 and EMR, is a significant advantage.
  • Strong background in system-level operations, including Linux and Shell scripting.
  • A proven track record in operational experience, production support, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of system security and vulnerability management processes.
  • Programming experience, preferably in Ansible, Shell, and Python, with a willingness to learn new programming languages.
  • A collaborative spirit, finding satisfaction in helping team members and resolving complex issues together.
