We are seeking a Research Associate to join the esteemed program led by Principal Investigator, Ju Dong Yang, MD.
Dr. Yang's research is dedicated to the clinical and translational study of liver cancer. His work includes extensive population-based cohort studies that reveal current trends in liver cancer epidemiology across the United States. He has authored numerous outcome research publications in this critical area and has developed survival prediction models for liver cancer patients through various modeling studies.
In this role, the Research Associate will work independently while closely collaborating with the Principal Investigator and fellow Research Scientists. The incumbent will engage in both routine and sophisticated procedures throughout their training period. Responsibilities include developing, adapting, and implementing novel research techniques and protocols. Team members will analyze and interpret data, assist in grant proposal preparations, and contribute to publications and presentations as authors or co-authors. This position does not entail generating grant funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation, analyzing results in conjunction with the Principal Investigator.
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile research data.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Assist in the execution of clinical research trials and the development of clinical trial protocols.
Education:
- Doctorate degree (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in a field directly related to the area of research specialization.
- Independently manage research projects designed by a mentor (typically the Principal Investigator) within the area of specialization.
- Acquire comprehensive technical and theoretical knowledge of the research project and objectives during a one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in executing experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection, analysis, and the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
