Position Overview

Are you a motivated sales professional with a passion for the HVAC industry? Do you enjoy engaging with various brands of equipment, parts, and supplies? If so, we are seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Counter Sales Associate to play a vital role in our wholesale HVAC distribution team.

As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, responsible for building strong customer relationships and delivering exceptional service in a sales-driven environment. Your primary focus will be managing our sales counter, which features a wide selection of HVAC equipment, parts, and supplies from multiple brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a representative of Baker Distributing Company, ensuring maximum sales performance.
  • Engage with internal and external sales personnel, vendors, and contractors.
  • Oversee showroom merchandising and product restocking.
  • Assist in resolving customer relations issues with both dealers and end users.
  • Facilitate the sales order process for customers while promoting associated items.
  • Serve walk-in and telephone customers, assisting with sourcing, shipping parts, inventory management, and warranty administration.
  • Research product and service needs for customers using various resources.
  • Organize stock on shelves or racks in the sales area, maintaining order and presentation.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Conduct outgoing customer sales or service calls, addressing customer complaints effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a solid background in technical support, HVAC parts, and customer service/sales, along with intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience in Customer Service, Data Entry, Estimating, Purchase Orders, Sales, and Shipping/Receiving is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Counter Sales role, ideally within the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including sales acumen, problem-solving abilities, and a customer service focus, are required.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting assigned goals and objectives within designated time frames.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent customer service mindset with a talent for developing long-term relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A current, valid Driver's License is required.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and understanding English is necessary to ensure compliance with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.
