Job Title: Client Construction Coordinator

ACT Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Client Construction Coordinator to join our team. As a Client Construction Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel, communicating safety deficiencies to contractors, and conducting and documenting observations of construction as it progresses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety of personnel by taking direct preventive measures and participating in weekly safety meetings.
  • Communicate safety deficiencies directly to contractors.
  • Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses.
  • Communicate with project group concerning all aspects of construction.
  • Coordinate work activities between the plant operator and contractor.
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Company standards and work methods.
  • Monitor current and future activities to ensure plans and schedules maximize productivity, control costs, and meet or exceed quality requirements.
  • Conduct field measurements to confirm material quantities and drawing dimensions.
  • Monitor the execution of contractor project activities to evaluate construction techniques in terms of quality, safety, timeline schedule, and cost efficiencies.
  • Perform reporting activities that monitor, track, and detail site activities in areas of importance such as cost overruns, deviations in design, change order requests, schedule, and stakeholder issues.
  • Monitor progress of site activities, evaluating tasks to eliminate waste, and recommend corrective actions to ensure the project remains within schedule and budget.
  • Monitor construction and assembly activities ensuring they meet contract requirements.
  • Record expended quantities of materials and services used on site; and forecast needs to completion.
  • Identify non-conforming work during construction activities and work with the contractor to address.
  • Support management in punch-list definition, identifying remaining activities to be completed.
  • Provide input based on lessons learned to the management team for use in future projects.
  • Participate in meetings as requested by the management team.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Client, gas, power, or other plant construction, operations, and maintenance principles, practices, safety standards, and business processes.
  • Familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Experience with electrical, instrumentation, controls, piping, and mechanical systems is desired.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving, schedule management, project administration, and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Local candidates are preferred, travel to local offices and facilities required.
Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline plus five (5) years supervising construction; OR Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline plus seven (7) years supervising construction; OR Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience in a supervisory position on a multidisciplinary, technical project within the industrial, power, utility, gas, or oil industries.

  • Journeyman's Electrical License
