Job Summary




Coordinates and leads the activities for the Materials Team. Activities include managing inventory accurately and safely in the effort of meeting or exceeding customer and company requirements. Leads by example in these activities and assists manager with managing, directing and training the warehouse associates that meets established Key Performance Indicators for department




Job Duties





Leads day-to-day work activities, readily responds to team members’ issues and concerns and ensures all tasks are completed according to customer requirements and company standards

Assigns tasks to team members, audits the quality and accuracy of their work, and provides documented coaching when appropriate


Monitors performance, reports issues, and provides input into the review process. Includes support for employee discipline and reviewing performance

Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manages performance. Includes updating KPI(s) at assigned frequency and completing corrective actions when KPI(s) are not being met
Guides the Materials team in interpreting existing processes and policies and assists in the development of efficiencies or process improvements. This includes Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) as assigned
Implements process improvement initiatives as assigned
Interprets, processes, and reconciles data from assigned Material Handling reports
Ensures Team is following all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Assists in administering and auditing Housekeeping Program

Ensures team is adhering to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) with resolutions applied as needed

Trains new hires and provide information to Manager regarding their progress and unique learning needs
Moves materials, supplies, and finished goods inventory to/from designated storage locations using radio frequency (RF) and lift truck equipment
Ensures Team accurately and timely picks, labels, stages, wraps, and loads Orders/Shipments
Utilizes JDE, RFS, and RF technology to transact the movement of inventory and ship product
Assists in operating machinery and provide additional support to fill resource gaps in designated department when needed. Includes setup and teardown of presses as part of Material Handling duties
Performs complex troubleshooting tasks related to set-up, tear-down and operations.
Supports team processing backup material handler duties as needed based on team member availability





Experience and Education





3 to 5 years of manufacturing/materials experience, including experience driving powered industrial equipment
2-year college degree, CPIM certification, or 2 years’ leadership experience responsible for a team’s performance
Perform work under minimal supervision
Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
Possess comprehensive working knowledge of Materials and Material Handling operations
Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
Developing, writing, and holding Team accountable for Standard Work

Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate mathematical skills
Intermediate use of required gaging instruments and the application of such instruments
Intermediate ERP experience (JDE preferred)
