Louisville ships more than 6M cases annually while operating as a finished goods warehouse for the Louisville plant. This role will manage the overall quality (OTIF and Material Variances) of all products received and shipped out of the Louisville DC.The Warehouse Inventory Manager is responsible for identifying quality issues, reporting them to the appropriate person and initiating the corrective action process.Schedule: Monday through Friday 10am
6pm.What will you do as a Warehouse Inventory Manager at Dawn Foods? Develops and implements inventory control procedures to ensure optimum levels. Coordinates cycle count and damage product routines while reconciling all variances. Manages the Shipping and Receiving functions of the warehouse to ensure the receipt, coordination and safety of goods coming through the warehouse in order to support OTIF targets. Monitors adherence to all food safety and handling procedures. Develops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency. Ensures that orders arrive and are dispatched on time and accurate to the appropriate destination. Supports both 1st and 2nd shift warehouse operations to ensure standard work is being followed while providing training and coaching where necessary to close gaps. Partner with transportation team to improve efficiencies regarding inventory returns process for both team members and customers. Works closely with sales and procurement on slow moving and distressed inventory reconciliation.
Responsible for managing all internal and external product inventory audits. Directly manages Dawn People in Inventory Control and Scheduling areas. Interviews, conducts performance appraisals, directs work activities, trains and/or coordinates training for team members based on department requirements. Ensures physical bin accuracy in all storage types (ambient, cooler and freezer). Leadership and motivation of Team Members to achieve the goals of Dawn Food Products. Support the Circle of Excellence and the Dawn Philosophy of Team Dawn. Takes appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all Dawn team members. Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA, etc.) Conducts and leads year-end physical inventory procedures. Oversee WMS warehouse slotting optimization. Liaison to Dawn sites for product traceability, hold and recalls. Other duties or assignments as needed.What Does It Take to be a Warehouse Inventory Manager at Dawn Foods?
High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor s degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years
warehouse supervisory experience.
7 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment required.
Inventory control and utilizing material handling experience and ability to problem solve in variable situations. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Experience with Lean Six Sigma. Experience with WMS and SAP highly preferred. Must be able to work well with others and independently. Basic math, record keeping and computer skills. Experience and/or equivalent education in supporting distribution centers/ plants and assessing the effectiveness of quality and food safety programs. Demonstrated front-line leadership, planning, and organization skills. Must be able to handle many diversified tasks at one time and correctly prioritize conflicting, time-sensitive tasks. Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, team building, and team-based approach decision-making skills. Requires the ability to safely operate a forklift and other heavy warehouse equipment. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Dawn people. Ability to utilize root-cause problem solving methodology to solve large-scale problems. Ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form.
