General Summary: This position is responsible for demonstrating basic skills in transporting, operating, and servicing heavy equipment for clearing railroad derailments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operates and maintains heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
Drives tractor-trailers or escort vehicles.
Uses various hand and power tools, including cutting torch and welding equipment.
Handles and attaches heavy steel chains, cables, and other devices.
Climbs on, under, and around derailed railroad cars and other equipment.
Lifts up to 150 lbs. with frequent lifting of 50 lbs.
Works at elevated heights, including over water.
Follows company policies, safety procedures, and hazardous materials handling.
Maintains service records and ensures proper use of company tools.
Requirements: Valid Driver's License with clean driving record, previous sales experience, and MUST LIVE LOCALLY IN THE AREA.
1+ years of experience in a related field.
Class A CDL required.
Proficient in equipment inspection procedures and mechanical operations.
Understands equipment limitations and demonstrates safe handling techniques.
Monday-Sunday, on-call 24/7 for emergency derailments.
Standard 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday with additional on-call responsibilities for derailment responses.
