This position has the flexibility of optional hybrid schedule once fully trained. The hybrid schedule consists of working in the office minimum of 3 days per week and the option to work from home on the other days, based on team/project schedules.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesLead a module of existing hardware being repurposed for a new test campaignComplete hot gas path mechanical analyses and substantiate against program requirementsLead a team of rotor and static structural engineers to substantiate those components against program requirementsIntegrate collaboratively with diverse teams from multiple disciplinary functions such as thermal design, aero design, and systems design.Communicate risks within their designs to appropriate stakeholders to help drive to collective decisions on how best to proceed as a diverse teamCreate innovative solutions that benefit the assigned hardware and overall module to meet broad design objectives.The person in this role will complete design reviews, drawing releases, quality requirements, assembly analyses, amongst other activities.Complete other tasks or leadership roles as the program maturesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university or collegeAt least 7 additional years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience for aerospace propulsion systems such as rotors, structures, or airfoil component design.Desired Characteristics10+ years of experience in mechanical designMaster's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university or collegeTurbine Airfoil component design or analysis experienceCollaborative style, valuing and enhancing diversity of teamsExperience in solving mechanical design problemsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certificationEstablished self-prioritization skillsAt GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen.
