Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled individual to contribute to the design and development of innovative products, solutions, and systems. This role involves enhancing existing products and components, impacting departmental operations, and requires effective planning and execution.

The position offers a degree of autonomy while primarily focusing on executing tasks within established operational practices and procedures. Some decision-making is expected, typically with guidance.


Key Responsibilities

• Conduct the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, applying sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, and product requirements.
• Engage in mechanical and/or electrical engineering for a variety of products.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge in a specific technical discipline, leveraging prior experience and expertise to implement policies and strategies.
• Gain a thorough understanding of key business drivers to effectively accomplish tasks.
• Recognize how the work of your team integrates with other teams and contributes to overall objectives.
• Utilize judgment to propose alternative solutions while operating within set parameters, with guidance as needed.
• Apply previous experience and on-the-job training to address straightforward challenges, utilizing technical skills and analytical thinking to resolve issues.

This role is likely to be an individual contributor position, requiring proven interpersonal skills or an emerging leader capable of hiring and nurturing talent. You will also provide informal guidance to new team members.


Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance.


Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in the mechanical design of turbo-machinery components.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in composites engineering.
• Demonstrated ability in team building and project management.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in interfacing effectively with all organizational levels and external clients.
• Knowledgeable in mechanical design of PMC components and assembly procedures.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Ability to formulate strategies and execute plans with urgency.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Additional Information

This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government.
