The Maintenance Technician role at Atlas Machine & Supply plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery. This position entails collaborating with a team of maintenance technicians, overseeing maintenance tasks, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues, and contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the organization.


A Maintenance Technician must demonstrate the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. This also includes but is not limited to following all OSHA, EPA, and Atlas Machine & Supply implemented safety procedures when evaluating, repairing and or adjusting malfunctioning equipment.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct detailed inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on all machinery and equipment. Installs new, used, or custom machines/equipment per specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair intricate electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, control panels, instrumentation, buttons, switches, screens, relays, servo and VFD drives.
  • Offers scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs for all machinery and equipment.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and employs critical thinking in executing complex maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
  • Track and document all equipment repairs and troubleshooting activities using the company's maintenance software.
  • Always follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's machinery/equipment, encompassing all mechanical, electrical, and programming aspects.
  • Continuously develop and enhance technical skills through company-provided training and learning opportunities, such as collaboration with engineering and or external machine service providers.
  • Consult with Supervisor providing regular updates and to ensure coordinated repair processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years Industrial maintenance experience
  • Journeyman Level Mechanical experience required.
  • Journeyman or College Degree (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Welding and fabrication.
  • Understanding of electrical/controls and mechanical.
  • Knowledge of servo drive motors Hydraulic systems and Pneumatics, seals, valves, and pumps
  • CNC troubleshooting (Preferred)
  • Knowledge in Overhead crane maintenance (Preferred)
  • Must be able to work at heights on aero lifts and ladders.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and occasional lifting of up to fifty pounds.
