Overview: Boys & Girls Haven is seeking a temporary maintenance technician to help with repair and renovation projects. 

Role Summary: The Temporary Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, focusing on painting, preventative maintenance, and small projects. The technician will also assist with larger projects as needed. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Painting
    • Prepare surfaces and apply paint, or other finishes.
    • Perform touch-ups and repairs to existing paint jobs.
  2. Preventative Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation of equipment.
  3. Small Projects:
    • Repair drywall, including patching, sanding, and finishing.
    • Replace/repair plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, and toilets
  4. Larger Projects:
    • Assist with more extensive maintenance and repair projects as needed.
    • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently.
  5. Other Duties:
    • Perform minor electrical repairs and installations.
    • Assist with general carpentry tasks, including trim carpentry and finishing work.
    • Ensure all work is completed to high standards and in compliance with safety regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Basic knowledge and experience in painting and surface preparation.
    • Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures and practices.
    • Ability to repair drywall and replace plumbing fixtures.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.
    • Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license with clean driving record. 
  • Desired:
    • Experience with larger projects, such as extensive repairs or renovations.
    • Skilled in drywall finishing and trim carpentry.
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems and repair techniques.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional information:
  • The Temporary Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Hours per week and schedule will vary based on project needs and priorities.
  • This position requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. 
  • This position is designed to last approximately 60 days, with variable hours determined by project needs.
