Here, you will make an impact by:Develops and executes mechanical simulations to support medical product design and developmentPerforms complex technical analysis, including numerical model development, non-linear material modeling, dynamic systems, failure analysis, structural integrity analysis, and damage analysis, data reduction, data plotting, and data visualizationCollaborates and communicates with R&D and cross-functional teams to provide insights and ensure business needs are metDocuments simulation workflows and results to meet commercialization and regulatory requirements Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or higher in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution (verified prior to start) AND Five (5) years experience in mechanical simulations within the medical device industryORMaster’s Degree or higher in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution (verified prior to start) with a focus on computational simulations AND Three (3) years experience in mechanical simulations within the medical device industryORPh.D. in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution (verified prior to start) with a computational focus applied to healthcare applicationsAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:ORExperience in mechanical simulations with a focus on medical device design, fatigue or fracture predictions, or other relevant failure mode analysisExperience with non-linear and rate-dependent material modelingProficiency with Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and/or other numerical methods and common frameworks for developing these workflows (Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, Matlab, Python)Proficiency with CAD and numerical grid generation techniques and applications (Solidworks preferred)Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain simulation workflows and results to non-expertsWork location:Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week)Travel: May include up to 10% domestic and/or internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being Solventum offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
