Job Description Area Human Resources Manager - OilseedsFull-Time, Exempt PositionAbout the RoleThis regional role is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of manufacturing locations with 500+ colleagues. As the Area Human Resources (HR) Manager, you will be a key strategic partner to the leaders and teams across our Oilseeds sites in North America, driving vital human capital initiatives that enhance our business performance and colleague engagement.Working directly with plant managers and leadership teams, you'll take a proactive approach to addressing HR challenges, championing colleague development, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture. You show resilience and composure when handling unexpected issues or conflicts and can navigate different types of workplace cultures and environments.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic HR Partner: Develop and maintain strong relationships with plant leadership to influence effective HR processes, advise on best practices, and support business objectives.Colleague Engagement & Development: Champion employee relations, training, and organizational effectiveness to foster a culture of growth and engagement.Safety Advocate: Actively promote and support all safety-related policies, ensuring colleagues are engaged and committed to a safe working environment.Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead hiring efforts by interviewing, screening, and selecting candidates, and conducting new hire orientations. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to streamline recruitment efforts.Workforce Planning: Develop strategies to build current and future bench strength, ensuring smooth succession planning and knowledge transfer.Policy & Compliance: Enhance understanding and consistent application of ADM policies and procedures through training, coaching, and clear communication. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.Performance Management: Support and guide the performance management process, including appraisals, feedback, and career development. Address performance issues with professionalism and care.Labor Relations: Partner with Labor Relations to manage the labor grievance process, representing ADM's interests while fostering positive employee relations.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple disciplines (e.g., workforce planning, talent acquisition, career development).Proven leadership capability, with or without direct report responsibility, in cross-functional team settings.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of experience managing HR across multiple locations, including remote teams.1+ year of leadership experience, leading cross-functional teams with exempt and non-exempt staff in union and non-union environments.Proven track record of developing and facilitating training programs.Experience as a strategic business partner within a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse setting.Relevant HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).Key Personal CharacteristicsEmpathetic & Approachable: Naturally connects with people, making it easy for colleagues to seek support and guidance.Strong Communicator: Able to convey information clearly and persuasively across all levels of the organization.Proactive Problem Solver: Looks ahead to anticipate potential issues and tackles them head-on with innovative solutions.Trustworthy & Ethical: Handles sensitive situations with discretion, integrity, and transparency.Team-Oriented: Enjoys working collaboratively and values the contributions of others, fostering a spirit of teamwork.Culturally Aware: Sensitive to diverse backgrounds, actively promoting a culture of inclusion and respect.Analytical Thinker: Skilled at using data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.Confident Leader: Comfortable influencing others, setting direction, and inspiring teams to achieve their best.Excited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
