We invest in you Competitive Pay at $36/hour Clean work environment Climate controlled Professional training Family-owned business over 100 years in serviceSchedule: Monday- Friday up to 28 hours a week.This is a temporary contract position, up to 6 months of work.Job Purpose and OverviewUnder close alignment with their respective Supply Planning Manager, the Material Planner I s primary responsibility is to ensure the necessary ingredients, packaging and buy/sells are available in-house to meet the production schedule and/or meet our customers high expectations of fill rate. In addition, he/she will ensure that KPI s for material planning are being met such as proper inventory level targets, minimal obsolescence costs and expedited freight costs. This role will work closely with scheduling, warehousing, inventory control, and production.What Does It Take to be a Material Planner I at Dawn Foods? Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management field or related degree. Minimum of 4-6 years of work experience in purchasing or scheduling in a manufacturing environment. Must have operational knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word, & Microsoft Outlook and/or ability to learn these skills.What will you do as a Material Planner Iat Dawn Foods? Creates purchase orders for asingleplant
s raw material, packaging, and buy/sell purchases utilizing existing approved vendors and Dawn Buying Programs to ensure the timely receipt of quality goods and materials. Maintains targeted inventory levels in adherence with best in class practices at Dawn. Works to resolve availability issues with a sense of urgency and escalates to Supply Planning Manager & Procurement (supplier issues) when or if there are production scheduling implications or customer shortages. Continuously looks for improvement opportunities within one s responsibilities and those that impact the supply chain results. If necessary, will perform required expediting functions to meet customer and production scheduling requirements but main objective will be to avoid added costs. Works closely with scheduling and inventory control to make sure ingredient inventory is available to meet the production plan and line stoppages are avoided. Interfaces with Accounts Payable and Purchasing Departments to resolve P.O. pricing &/or quantity issues and encourage prompt vendor payments. Demonstrates the
