Key Responsibilities:
- Directly oversee the maintenance personnel and contractors within the mill.
- Ensure timely maintenance and cost-effective repairs of all plant machinery.
- Organize and manage daily tasks, collaborating with production supervisors and planners to prioritize work and manage material procurement.
- Supervise both hourly and contract employees, maintaining an organized work order backlog in conjunction with planners.
- Guarantee the proper upkeep of equipment databases, preventive maintenance records, and documentation.
- Actively promote safety and cleanliness standards established by maintenance management.
- Motivate team members to achieve departmental goals related to safety, cost efficiency, and quality, while managing overtime effectively.
- Clearly communicate objectives, key performance indicators, and expectations to teams.
- Assess the training requirements of staff and identify necessary tools or equipment for task execution.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of preventive and predictive maintenance protocols to ensure equipment reliability.
- Uphold company policies and existing contracts, while assisting in the performance evaluations of hourly staff.
- Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting various control systems.
Qualifications:
- A technical degree in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance along with a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. Equivalent years of relevant E&I maintenance experience may be accepted in lieu of a technical degree.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, leadership abilities, and a solid work ethic are essential.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry is advantageous.
