The Dispatch Manager role at What Chefs Want oversees the scheduling, equipment, and regional routes of the driver fleet. The Dispatch Manager manages the processes and procedures of the warehouse to ensure delivery of goods and services daily to customers. In addition, the Dispatch Manager manages RMA inventory in transit back to the warehouse and utilizes route manager feedback to increase route efficiency and reduce costs.The Dispatch Manager creates value for our company by using the resources available to keep costs associated with transportation and handling of products contained. The Dispatch Manager creates value for our customers by promoting What Chefs Want culture throughout the driver manager fleet and ensuring that issues are addressed in a timely manner to satisfy demands of our customers. An effective Dispatch Manager balances the demands of the job, feedback from route managers, and ever-changing priorities to promote a culture of engaged drivers who further promote What Chefs Want culture in their interactions with customers.OVERVIEW:Managing Route Managers/PersonnelConduct managerial review meetings monthly with route managers to establish and maintain expectationsThorough understanding of team operations to offer input in decision makingPerform daily route adjustments based off route manager feedback and customer buying patternsPrepare weekly driving schedules for route managers and manage vacation schedules for all drivers as well as managing the time clock for all route managersCommunicate with route managers including follow-ups with all RMA s and other truck/traffic issuesManages Company Fleet EquipmentReport all communicated issues in equipment/truck maintenance to appropriate channelsUsing available resources to identify needs of facility, personnel and equipment in order to accomplish necessary operational tasksManages truck and customer keysManages route manager phonesPRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages Inventory-Establish expectations for employee conduct and performance when it comes to inventory handling procedures-Review and act upon unshipped orders report-Review the daily mistakes report. Check with warehouse regarding products in bin locations for wrong picks. Communicate SD and WP with regional warehouse of the default pick location-Check in all RMA s after every trip-reconcile all Load Arrivals for RMA s and leave appropriate notes -Communicate for teams in meetings with General Manager and Managing Partner to achieve necessary results in planning scenarios; reports all margin per truck to the Executive team daily-Creating an effective, safe work environment for all by promoting company values in word and action Level of educationDegree in Logistics or Management/Business Administration; or equivalent work experience (5 years+)Knowledge / Job Specific Competencies:Excellent communication skills (verbal and written; professional and personal)Excel at identifying and balancing competing prioritiesProduce Pro, Zendesk and Outlook after trainingPersonal QualitiesDemonstrable ability to drive forward work on own initiative;Good understanding of and commitment to the work of What Chefs Want and its demandsPositive attitude to help team stay motivated throughout ups and downs of operationsService- and goal-orientedTeam player
