The primary purpose of this position is to direct the activities of the operating department to safely make product at the lowest possible cost with the highest quality possible. This position directly supervises their areas covering all three shifts and is responsible for the day-to-day operations. This position supervises a Business Unit Leader under their respective area. This position develops and implements plans to attain company and department goals for safety, sanitation, quality, schedule attainment, employee relations, equipment utilization, costs, and training initiatives for the Department. Provide adequate communication within the shift and to other shifts for proper transition and to maximize productivity. Promote, direct and lead Operational Excellence, DDS, and all WHQ and Plant initiatives and activities as required. Maintain a strong and productive team environment and promote positive employee relations making third party representation unnecessary. As a member of the site leadership team, person will help develop/influence site strategies, master plans and salaried staffing decisions.What you will do...• 10% - Coordinates and controls personnel and equipment utilization to attain productivity and cost control goals.• 10% - Coordinate, help train and control the activities of the hourly, non-exempt, exempt work force.• 15% -Develops strategies to ensure company and plant goals are attained for safety, sanitation, quality, schedule attainment, employee relations, employee development, costs, and equipment utilization.• 15% - Insure and support key initiatives including Safety, TPM, DDS, TDC, Diversity, SAP, etc. as it relates to the goals of the organization.• 10% - Team up with engineering on project implementation, start to finish-monitor efficiency/performance goals.• 10% - Provide support of new commercialization and initiatives• 10% - Develop strategy for people development and implement an action plan to develop individuals in current position, and/or for future opportunities.• 10% - Maintain positive employee relations to make third party representation unnecessary.• 10% - Acts as a resource to support the activities of Business Unit Leaders, Shift Leaders, Team Leaders, and hourly personnel.• A recurring problem exists with a piece of equipment across all shifts. The individual in this position will assemble a group of employees from his/her area and from other areas, analyze the problem and recommend immediate and long-term solutions to address the recurring problem.• The timeline for a new product introduction has been moved up. The individual in this position must assemble a team to secure ingredients and packaging, establish a manufacturing window, work with scheduling to schedule the product, staff the production line, and secure shipping to meet the new timeline.• Analyze area performance by comparison of standards and develop action plans after reviewing recommendations for improvement from work teams, network teams, and/or other company consultants.• Development of front-line leaders and responsible for cross-departmental movement and rotations• Partners with planning to form strategic production schedule for 2 to 4 weeks• Resolve employee relations problems in a professional, fair, and consistent manner. Must deal with personality conflicts, disputes, and disagreements.• 24-hour attachment to operations across all soup production operations, with cross department responsibility and ability to flex to help all shifts to match needs in challenging environments• Develop plan of action and focus leadership and teams on safety, quality, costs and productivity to meet or exceed Company and/or Plant targets in each area.What you bring to the table... HS Diploma or GED required5+ years of Maintenance or Operations experience within a manufacturing environmentIt would be great if you have... Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree preferred7+ years of Maintenance or Operations experience within food manufacturingCompensation and Benefits:The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between$101,000-$145,100Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
