Altec is currently looking for a PIM Data Management Specialist - Salsify in Birmingham, AL. This position will play a key role in ensuring that product information within the PIM system is accurately managed and consistently aligns with Altec Supply’s internal guidelines before being published on the website. Altec Supply is a leading provider of tools, accessories, and other supplies related to the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, and lights and signs industries. Responsibilities may involve writing and editing copy, product literature and enrichment, guides, catalogs, and image editing. This role may also involve supporting trade shows and related marketing efforts.



PIM Data Management Specialist - Salsify | Responsibilities

This position is responsible for digital merchandising and supporting product content for Altec Supply. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:



Data Management

Adhere to best data management practices and maintain a high standard of data accuracy, completeness, and consistencyCollaborate in implementing and maintaining data governance and processes that enhance operational efficiency and maintain product data integrity across the businessConsolidate product data from multiple sources, including ERP systems, suppliers, and internal databasesPerform regular data audits to identify and correct discrepancies, duplicates, and errorsDevelop and enforce validation rules to maintain high data quality standards

Content Editing

Edit and enrich product content, including images, categorization, product name, description, and specification(s) to ensure its accuracy and compliance with brand standards and internal guidelinesManage the lifecycle of product content, including updates, revisions, and archiving of outdated information

Analytics

Utilize PIM system analytics to monitor and report on data quality, completeness, and product performancePerform research and generate reports on data quality and integrity, to ensure data is standardized, clean, and free of errors or duplications while also respecting the validation rulesProvide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve product data management processesTrack the effectiveness of product content across different channels and recommend optimizations

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

Bachelor’s degree requiredAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets UsersTwo years of applicable experience (PIM / MDM experience preferred)
Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience, not to exceed one year in totalMust have extensive knowledge of the product lifecycle, attribution, taxonomy models, distribution/publishing practicesMust be skilled in synthesizing information and uncovering accurate answers through in-depth researchMust have the ability to manage and cross-reference large amounts of data
Experience with Salsify platformMust be able to multi-task and meet tight deadlinesMust have a high attention to detail and processesMust be highly organized, logical, and analyticalMust have experience with basic image editing skillsMust have good verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of tools and accessories and/or the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, lights and signs industries, is a plusExperience using SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, BrightEdge, Algolia, is a plusMay include up to 5% travelAll other duties as assigned
