Primary Responsibility : The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. During this experience, our interns will gain valuable knowledge related to Distribution Operations Warehouses while contributing to the one of the COOLest business sectors. The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers. What You'll Do : o
Learn fundamentals of warehouse and distribution management in these areas: Warehouse/Facility Operations: o
Dock & Front Office processes o
Labor and transportation/labor matrix planning o
Appointment scheduling o
Inventory Control Process Engineering & Improvement: o
Labor Standards o
Continuous Improvement Leadership & Safety: o
Work with other leaders in coordinating and Shift leadership coordinating and watching all warehouse activities of an assigned work team on a shift basis by directing assigned employees in the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of customer product in a manner consistent with service and cost objectives. o
Collaborate with teams and managers to assist in solving work-related issues. o
Participate in all safety training Inventory Control o
Participate in formal orientations/trainings and informal meetings with members of workforce from a variety of functions. o
Adhere to and ensure compliance with all Company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA regulations. o
All other duties as assigned. What Experience and Education You Need : o
Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations, Business Management, or related field of study. o
Prior intern and/or work experience internship o
Demonstrated leadership in work and/or academics o
Project management experience o
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably at all levels of the organization including with senior level leaders o
Excellent technical skills including a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) o
Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic, and changing environment o
Must possess a strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting goals and deadlines o
Ability to influence and think creative and strategically o
Detailed oriented, multi-tasking, and analytical problem-solving skills o
Must be able to work flexible hours based on business needs o
