The diversity of our talents is what makes our work environment multicultural, innovative and highly rewarding.About the Role:The primary responsibility of the Mechanic-Electrician is to manage, repair and maintain production equipment in our Somerset, NJ repackaging facility. This role requires an individual which excels in troubleshooting production equipment problems as well as proactively preventing issues delaying or preventing production of the company s products.This is a non-exempt salaried position, however the position does require overtime and will recieve overtime pay.Main Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:Repair, maintain, install and change over production packaging machines and lines. Troubleshoot packaging machine problems and make necessary repairs in a timely manner.  Perform preventive maintenance on packaging machines and conveyors. Recommend improvements and modifications to production operations/machines.Performs preventive maintenance tasks following standards and schedules. This includes lubrication, adjustments and cleaning.Experience in LOTO training.Perform general plant maintenance duties and other duties as assigned (facility-related tasks as needed).Perform Electrical repairs to machinery.Install/repair sensors, switches, eyes, etc. as needed on production linesUnderstand PLC logic.Perform facility electrical work (light installations, conduit, etc. )Support new line installations.Understand Electrical safetyFollow GHPs and Safety RulesWho we are looking for:Qualifications: High School degree5 or more years
experience working with high-speed packaging equipment, systems and conveyors. Knowledge of electrical installations, PLC controllers, sensors, etc.)Detailed knowledge of Robotics. Working knowledge of motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, servo drives, electronic components, facility installations (pneumatic, electrical installs), and mechanical equipment.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties. Proficient at operating machine shop and welding equipment.Experience troubleshooting robotics.Experience operating forklifts, scissor-lifts, and power pallet jacks.Ability to be flexible and work with a positive attitude.Experience with efficient line changeovers (packaging machines, conveyors, etc.)How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero:Consumers, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do.
